About Us
Life Cycle UK is an innovative charity that has been transforming lives through cycling since 1999. Our experience is that cycling can be a fantastic agent for change: it improves physical and mental health, enables those on low incomes to access jobs and services, helps the lonely or isolated to engage better with community life and helps young people on their journey to independence.
Our range of nationally acclaimed “Inclusive Cycling Projects” support individuals with disabilities, mental health illness, offenders, isolated older people and disadvantaged young people to improve their lives through cycling and bikes.
Two of our projects feature in research by the University of Brighton and Oxford Brookes University as examples of cycling projects delivering wider social benefits and a ‘Social Return on Investment’ study by the University of Bristol found that every £1 spent by Life Cycle results in £8.05 worth of social, environmental and health benefits.
Life Cycle UK is based in Bristol, but also work in Derby and Bournemouth. Our services include provision of affordable refurbished bicycles, maintenance training, cycle skills training and supported group cycle rides and last year helped 4,169 people.
